“Walking Around Takamatsu Port and Nishihama Fishing Port” is a sample plan, which corresponds to No. 4 in “Walking Around Takamatsu” of “Places to Go”. The map shows you how to get there from the apartment, a walking route, interesting spots, scenic points, and restaurants and coffee shops along the route.

  • 1Kotoden Kawaramachi Station

    The starting point of the trip. Take a train from Ritsurin Koen Station to Kawaramachi Station. It only takes 5 minutes.

    An area of old warehouses at Takamatsu Port. Shops and restaurants can be found in the warehouses.

    Learn the history of Kagawa from prehistoric times to the present. Worth visiting before starting a trip in Takamatsu or Kagawa.

  • 3Takamatsu Castle

    The former site of Takamatsu Castle. The castle was built facing the Seto Inland Sea. A beautiful garden and ruins of old structures still remain.

  • 4Takamatsu Port

    Ferries to the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, such as Shodoshima, Naoshima, Teshima, Megijima, and Ogijima, depart from here.

  • 5Breakwater and Lighthouse

    This red-colored lighthouse is the symbol of Takamatsu Port. The view from the breakwater and lighthouse is wonderful, especially the sunrise, sunset, and the Seto Inland Sea.

  • 6Nishihama Fishing Port

    The fishing port of Takamatsu. The port has a history that goes back to the Nara Period (710-794 AD).

  • 7Fishing Market

    The central market of Takamatsu. Markets for fish, fruit, and flowers are all in the same facility, along with restaurants and shops. Tours of the fish market are also available (reservation required).

  • 8Nishihama Fishing Port Lighthouse

    A small lighthouse at Nishihama Fishing Port. Great for getting another viewpoint of the Seto Inland Sea and the port area of Takamatsu.

    The area of town around the fishing port. Enjoy the old townscape and related small shrines and temples related.
